Haemotherapy and Immunohaematology: Attention to blood donors, preparation of blood components (packed red blood cells, cryoprecipitates, platelets, etc.).

The British Hospital Buenos Aires has a Blood Bank of its own. This ensures patients a strict selection of donors and complete serological tests including the latest advances in screening (Hepatitis C antigen, P24 antigen, among others).

Clinical Haematology: This area is devoted to the study and management of all general haematological disorders (anaemic disorders, white blood cell and platelet abnormalities, etc.).

Haemostasis and Thrombosis: This area is devoted to the study and management of clotting disorders, whether hereditary or acquired; thrombophilia; attention to chronically anti-coagulated patients. Management of haemostatic emergencies.

Haematological Cancer – Bone Marrow Transplant Unit: Patients with a bone marrow transplant are admitted to a completely isolated, independent area, comprising of 4 single rooms equipped with an individual system of laminar air flow and all the comfort elements they may need.

Aphaeresis Area: Including advanced technology (TRIMA Aphaeresis System) with 12 different programmes to produce buffy coat blood components suitable for each needed application. This method allows collection of platelet concentrates, triple platelet products and double red cell products from a single donor.
